Our tragedy today is a general and universal physical fear so long sustained by now that we can even bear it. There are no longer problems of the spirit. There is only one question: When will I be blown up?

William Faulkner: Nobel Prize Acceptance Speech

This is a great quote from Faulkner’s Nobel Prize acceptance speech. The whole speech is only three paragraphs, it’s worth a read.  Though this quote is a bit dreary, the speech is much more optimistic.  I thought this quote is particularly appropriate after having watched Cloverfield today.
