Statistically Generating The Perfect Pickup Line

Now that I’m engaged, this knowledge is of little use to me.  But, I found this post from OKCupid fascinating. It’s a statistical analysis of how to generate the best initial online dating contact email based on all the emails in the OKCupid system.

Using a combination of all the best (where “best” is defined as statistically successful) pieces of an intro blind email, the ultimate first few lines would be:

“How’s it going? You mention in your profile you’re into Vegetarian Metal; me too. I’m sorry to bother you, but since we’re both pretty much athiests, I thought I’d reach out.”
